R1: Ch 3.  13 DC in circle.  Join in top of ch 3.

R2: Ch 3.  4 DC in 1st st.  Skip next st.  *5 DC in next st.  Skip next st.*  Repeat around.  Join in top of ch 3. 

R3: Ch 3.  Skip 5 DC's.  *1 DC, ch 3, 1 DC (hereafter referred to as V-st) in sp after DC's*  Repeat.  Join in top of ch 3. 

R4: Sl St in center of V-st.  Ch 3.  4 DC in V-st.  V-st.  *5 DC's in next V-st, V-st in next sp* Repeat.  Join in top of ch 3.

R5-R13: Turn work.  Sl St in center of V-st.  Ch 3.  4 DC in V-st.  *Sk 4 st.  V-st.  5 DC in next V-st.*  Repeat.  Join in top of ch 3.

R14: Switch to smaller hook.  Ch 3.  1 DC in each st around.  Join in top of 1st DC made.

R15: Ch 3.  1 DC in each st around.  Join in top of 1st DC made.  Tie off & hide ends.
